The habit of smoking

Do you find yourself falling back to old habits every time you try to make better ones? The secret is creating automatic habits.

When your habits are automatic your brain saves energy during the task. If you are trying to develop a new habit, smart small or else you risk failing to stick to it over along term. If you are trying to quit smoking for example, you risk relapsing because it’s such an ingrained habit that you did almost unconsciously.

It takes time to build up a habit. And once you do build a habit, build upon it over time. So start off small, say have one cigarette every 2 hours instead of every 30 minutes. Then build upon the habit and go for 8 hours. then one smoke a day. then eventually you won’t even have the craving to smoke anymore. Replace smoking with a new habit.
